Happy Halloween!

We had a fun Halloween. I gave my class a "library" day and went to Helena's very first Halloween Party at school. She has been talking about it for a couple of weeks now, so there was quite a bit of anticipation! Because of her recent excitement with pumpkins & jack-o-lanterns, I made a jack-o-lantern for her costume! I modified a pattern for a little jumper or pinafore dress by adding a ribbed band at the bottom and appliqueing a pumpkin face!
At the party, her favorite thing was searching for mini pumpkins in a haystack! So I have a lot of those pictures. . .

Baby Belle missed the party this morning, but she didn't mind! When I came home from the party with Helena, I made Isabelle's costume for trick-or-treating. Then we picked up Brother and Daddy and went home to get ready!

Phelan's costume was kind of a collaborative brainstorm. He might be called the "Mad Gamer," or the "Gamer Geek," or the "Ultimate Nintendo Fan"! Note the Wii-mote attached to the wrist. It might be mistaken for Spiderman's spinnerettes!! Various controls draped around, touseled hair, bags under eyes from eyestrain or lack of sleep, and the all-important Doritos attached to the forearm for convenience (or something).

Finally, here's Isabelle, with big sister, in her flower costume! Daddy likes to call her a "Petite Fleur," especially when she (or Helena, when she was younger) does something not very delicate--as all babies do! :)
The pictures were taken in and around the parking garage on A&M's campus. We went trick-or-treating at the dorms on campus--and collected a good amount of candy! Isabelle in particular attracted a lot of attention, and Phelan's costume amused a lot of people--those who got it!!

Hope everyone else had a fun time! This was really the smoothest, most relaxed Halloween we've had in a while. A great evening all around--even considering the trop to Wal-Mart for diapers! ;)
